Yes, the 2022 College Football Playoffs have something for you

Did you see that headline? ‘Cuz it’s an important one. Whether you’re an avid football family like mine (I mean, Hail to the Victors Valiant!), or you’re not sure the difference between a touchdown and a third down, there’s some big news afoot in Indianapolis:

The College Football Playoff National Championship Game is coming to the Circle City on January 10.

With the stage now set for a showdown between two of the NCAA’s best teams - including my Michigan Wolverines, eeek! - the 2022 College Football Indianapolis Host Committee has designed an entire itinerary that spells f-u-n for the whole fam, not just limited to the big day. Let’s take a look:

Like music?

ICYMI, the CFP (that’s College Football Playoff for short - we’ll be using it throughout, so get familiar now!) announced a massive, free concert series on Monument Circle in the days leading up to the big game. Here’s the lineup for the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live:

  • January 8th: AJR and Doja Cat

  • January 9th: Twenty-One Pilots and Ava Max

  • January 10th: Sam Hunt and BRELAND

Gates will open for all performances at 5pm and space is first-come, first-served. The shows will also be livestreamed via College Football Playoff All Access and through AT&T social and digital platforms.

Like football?

Visit Playoff Fan Central with the family January 8-10th, a 3-day event held at the Convention Center in downtown Indy. It will include clinics, pep rallies, games for the whole fam, special guest appearances, autograph signings, and more.

Like food?

Perfect. The Taste of Championship is a ‘premium dining experience’ foodie fundraiser offering the opportunity to indulge in gourmet food and drinks. Local chefs will takeover the Indiana State Museum in this evening activity on January 9th, and tickets are available for purchase. Get your tickets here.

Like giving back?

A huge focus for the CFP in Indianapolis is celebrating teachers, with a couple special activities:

The Extra Yard for Teachers Summit is an event designed to empower educators thru speakers, networking opportunities, and professional development. It will take place January 8th at the NCAA Hall of Champions. Know a teacher or educator? Encourage them to register.

Or, consider the Extra Yard 5k on January 9th - a special run benefitting teachers. Enjoy a brisk run or walk with the fam, either in-person starting from the Indiana Convention Center, or virtually. All proceeds benefit Extra Yard for Teachers, the College Football Playoff Foundation's primary platform that elevates the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering quality teachers.
