3 ways to Rock the Ruins at Holliday Park

What’s the perfect Indianapolis summer night?

For us, it’s hard to beat Rock the Ruins with our favorite people, fantastic lineup, historic scenery, and tasty food and drinks. Rock the Ruins is a favorite local venue in picturesque Holliday Park just north of downtown Indianapolis, where “nature meets neighbors.” Whether you are out on a date, hanging with friends, or bringing your kids to their first concert, Rock the Ruins has something for everyone!

Before we get rockin’, let’s cover the basics:

Transportation, Parking, and ADA

Never been to Rock the Ruins? No problem—This venue has several options for parking. Reserve your spot for $35 and enter at the corner of Springmill and 64th Street. Free parking can be found in three satellite parking lots nearby. Concertgoers are encouraged to take the shuttles from these local lots that arrive every 30 minutes. You can also bike, and ridesharing is highly encouraged! Limited ADA parking is available, so contact the venue a couple of weeks before your show to snag a spot.

Get the App

Be sure to download the Rock the Ruins app to easily access your ticket when you get to the gate. No need to worry about keeping track of a paper ticket if you don’t want to!

What to Bring

Bring your lawn chair or blanket, and leave food and beverages home! Rock the Ruins has excellent food trucks and drink options to enjoy on the beautiful lawn. Don’t forget to hit up the merch tables to support your favorite artist!

3 ways to rock the ruins this summer:

1. Bring the Kids

You’re welcome to bring strollers and diaper bags. Bring a fold-up umbrella stroller if parking in a satellite lot, as space is limited! Bonus: Children three and under are admitted for free.

If you need shade, arrive early! There are shaded spots, but they fill quickly. If you can snag one, there is lots of green space for your kids to run off the energy before the show. Just be sure not to leave the venue for the playground, as there is no re-entry.

2. Treat yourself to Mom’s Night Out

General admission is wonderful, but did you know there are lots of options for upgrades? Check out the Rock the Ruins website to upgrade your experience to include dedicated seating and parking, exclusive food, beer, wine, cocktail options, and access to the premium tent. Did we mention the air-conditioned bathrooms? Yeah, they are a great upgrade perk.

3. Date night done right

We don’t know about you, but on a kid-free night, we like doing it right and feeling a little extra special. So, if you’re feeling really fancy, get the Ultimate Package to have a dedicated server for the whole evening! Our favorite part of the upgrades? Access to up close, shaded spots, with a beverage in hand, while the sun goes down over the Ruins. It makes for the perfect date night!

A few final tips from musician and CityMom Kim:

  • We know you love to rock (and we’re here for it!), but to keep on rockin' in the years to come, bring headphones for your littles or silicone earplugs for you if you’re planning to sit close!

  • If you aren’t a fan of port-a-potties, check out the bathrooms right by the ruins. The line can be a little long but moves fast!

  • Enjoy this urban green space Rock the Ruins offers to let your little sweeties walk around, for your friends to cheer and chat, or for you and your date to find a patch of grass to snuggle up close.

  • Food options are aplenty at Rock The Ruins so if you arrive hungry, you’ll be happy. Premium ticket holders can select from an exclusive menu curated by local restaurants. General admission ticket holders will love the onsite food trucks and booths.

  • Last tip: Act fast and snag your tickets! Rock the Ruins tends to sell out, so pick a favorite or new-to-you band here for the perfect Indianapolis night.
